*Our grantee partners are doing incredible work in the community - advancing an equitable, just, and vibrant Central Jersey Shore. We believe in the sharing of stories, learnings, and accomplishments of people, organizations, and community. Each week, we will highlight a grantee partner who we have funded in the prior quarter. Please visit their websites and learn more about how they are impacting the people they serve and the greater community.*
Meet *Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore**!*
The mission of Girl Scouts is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore serves 12,000+ members in Monmouth and Ocean counties. While participating in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, Girl Scouts gain important skills in four areas: science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), the outdoors, life skills, and entrepreneurship.
We are proud to have supported Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore's InnovateHer Academy which was a dynamic Girl Scout program this summer for Lakewood girls in grades K–5 (ages 5–12), blending traditional Girl Scout adventure with STEM, arts, community involvement, and leadership-building activities. InnovateHER Academy included transportation, uniforms, supplies, and a two-year Girl Scout membership! During this camp, girls explored science & engineering, dove into creative arts, got involved in their community, gained confidence outdoors, and made new friends in a safe, nurturing environment.
