Grantee Spotlight: The Center in Asbury Park

The Mission of The Center in Asbury Park is to connect at risk community members to comprehensive healthcare, safe and supportive housing, and wellness through education, collaboration, and advocacy.

Since 1992, The Center has been a volunteer-based not-for-profit organization, providing support services for people living with HIV/AIDS. Today, The Center follows a housing-first model to connect at-risk, status-neutral community members to comprehensive healthcare, safe and supportive housing, and wellness. It believes that if people have safe housing, they can deal with issues of substance use, mental health, and employment. It envisions being the “center” of hope where everyone is treated with dignity and empowered to live longer, healthier, and happier lives.

Our grantee partners are doing incredible work in the community - advancing an equitable, just, and vibrant Central Jersey Shore. We believe in the sharing of stories, learnings, and accomplishments of people, organizations, and community. Each week, we will highlight a grantee partner who we have funded in the prior quarter. Please visit their websites and learn more about how they are impacting the people they serve and the greater community.
